- Many households in Mitchells Plain in the Cape Flats are struggling to afford food due to rising costs and economic challenges.
- High unemployment rates, gangsterism, and violence make their struggles even worse.
- Inflationary pressures force tough choices, often leaving families deprived of essential meals and daily necessities.

The Challenge
Many families in Mitchells Plain will break their fast with nothing.
- They have no food for suhoor to sustain them through the day, nor iftar with which to break their fast.
- Some have no family to care for them, no pension to rely on, and no food in their homes.
- Many are elderly who are raising grandchildren on their own, stretching what little they have.

Campaign Activities
Fundraising to Relieve the Needy and Provide Aid during Ramadan.
- Distribute comprehensive food and hygiene parcels to families, ensuring they have essentials for suhoor and iftar.
- Conduct targeted community outreach programs, collaborating with local volunteers and organizations to identify and support struggling households.
- Launch strategic online crowdfunding and awareness campaigns, reaching global supporters and amplifying our mission to alleviate hunger.
We have produced a campaign video and social media posts highlighting their plight, which will be shared to create awareness and raise funds to support them. A LaunchGood crowdfunding page will further expand our reach, inviting people from around the world to donate. The funds raised will be used to distribute food parcels every month, consisting of essential groceries and hygiene items.
Results
Needy families can now look forward to a meal at suhoor and iftar for an entire month.
- Mothers can feed their children, the elderly can provide for their grandchildren, and orphans don’t go to bed hungry.
- This assurance relieves their stress and worry about where their next meal will come from, easing a major burden and providing comfort and security.
- With newly restored hope, they can look forward to a more secure and optimistic future.
